ABOUT THE WORKSHOP


D.U.B. urban ARCHITECT as professional partner and organizer, along with Ticket Central as a ticketing partner, invite you to participate in a 3-day long workshop on CREATING BOUNDARIES – I (NBC | FIRE FIGHTING | LIFE SAFETY). The workshop is designed to be an introduction to the use of NBC AND ITS INTERPRETATIONS, Concept of Fire-fighting strategies in Real life projects with its Recommendations and an introduction to Life Safety.

It shall present the current state-of-the-art developments, discuss the concepts of Systems being used and its applications along with its Limitations. Execute hands-on exercises on the use of fire-fighting systems used, technicalities, drawings and notes to remember, coordination and construction possibilities and limitations, and introduce Life-Safety applications and considerations for a Building Occupancy category, as per NBC.

The course will focus on 6 hands-on exercises:

Understanding the Interpretations of NBC as done by Approval authorities or Fire Officers.

Understanding Building Occupancy and relatable applications from NBC along with Recommendations for practice.

Concept of Fire-fighting applications and its selection procedure.

Case Study of Fire-fighting techniques used in a Renowned Hospital.

Drawing Reading and information to follow and Show for Fire Authorities Approval.

Exercise on making of Fire fighting Drawings on a Real life Hotel project, and individual assesment on the same.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

The workshop will be scheduled across 3 days (4 hours each from 6 pm to 10 pm each day), through 2 consecutive weekends on 2nd – 3rd Oct (Saturday and Sunday) and 9th Oct (Saturday) respectively.

The timings have been kept to avoid any clashes with classes, examinations and office timings.

  • Architectural Speculations Standards to follow and look up.
  • Introduction to Fire-Fighting and its recommendations.

Day 2

  • Fire Fighting Details & Procedures to follow
  • Fire Fighting Systems and their applications on Live Complex Project
  • Exercise on Architectural project (Drawings to be provided)
  • Introduction to Life Safety

Day 3

  • Individual Assessment of exercises given
  • Questions & Answers
